Accessibility

Bingo has always been a game everyone can join, and we want the online version to keep that promise. Here is what BingoHoster already does to help, and what we are still working on.

Built in from the start

Every number is announced aloud by a recorded human voice as well as shown on screen, so the game works by ear as well as by eye. The called number is displayed very large with strong contrast, each new call is announced to screen readers as it happens, and the board keeps a full history so nobody is stuck if they miss one. Auto-tick can mark your tickets for you, which helps anyone who finds fast tapping difficult, and the pace can be slowed right down in settings. Controls are large touch targets, and the game runs in portrait or landscape on phones, tablets, computers and TVs.

Adjustments you can make

In any game's settings you can slow the caller's speed, turn music on or off, choose a calmer theme, and let auto-tick handle the marking. Tickets can also be printed for players who prefer paper and a real dabber alongside the screen.

Known limits and what is next

We are honest about the gaps: some decorative themes are busy for players sensitive to motion, and full keyboard-only play is still being improved. These are on our list, and the game receives updates most weeks.
